SEATTLE - Seattle University volleyball makes its first conference road trip of the season after opening West Coast Conference play with three straight home contests. The Redhawks (3-10, 0-3 WCC) jump down to Saint Mary’s (8-8, 3-1 WCC) for a 6:30 PM match inside the UCU Pavilion on Thursday night in pursuit of their first WCC win of the year.

SEATTLE - Seattle University volleyball makes its first conference road trip of the season after opening West Coast Conference play with three straight home contests. The Redhawks (3-10, 0-3 WCC) jump down to Saint Mary’s (8-8, 3-1 WCC) for a 6:30 PM match inside the UCU Pavilion on Thursday night in pursuit of their first WCC win of the year.

Two Redhawks have surpassed 100 kills this season, with sophomore Chloee Leslie pacing the group with 108 kills on the season, averaging 2.45 kills per set. Senior Adee Butler sits just behind Leslie with 105 kills this season, both sit within the WCC’s top-25 in kills. Senior Teagan Melton ranks third on the team with 99 kills in 12 matches.

Junior Grace Jones, Seattle U’s assists leader, comes off a double-double in digs and assists against Santa Clara. The setter sits 12th in the WCC with 237 assists this season. Her 5.27 assists per set ranks 10th in the league. Fellow setter sophomore Bella Jones sits 13th in conference in assists per set with 4.11 in 10 matches of action.

Junior Hailey McEllrath leads the Redhawks from the service line with 13 aces this season. Her 0.32 aces per set is ranked 15th in the WCC this season.

Guiding Seattle U’s defense is sophomore Lexi Jones, who sits eighth in the WCC with 45.0 total blocks this season. Her eight solo blocks ranks fourth in the conference, while Leslie also sits top-five in solo blocks with seven. Jones’ 1.18 blocks per set leads the team and ranks third in the WCC.

Freshman Janae Demant provides the defense coverage, pacing the team with 154 digs this season. She sits 11th in the WCC in digs, while her 3.42 digs per set ranks sixth in the conference.

The Redhawks rank fourth in the WCC in solo blocks, combining for 25 in 13 matches. They sit one shy of third, LMU, with two fewer matches played. Seattle U ranks fourth in the conference averaging 2.13 blocks per set.

Thursday’s contest marks the sixth meeting between Seattle U and Saint Mary’s since the series began in 2008. The Gaels hold the series advantage 5-0 after claiming both of their first conference meetings last season. The two have played four times in Moraga, with the Gaels narrowly claiming the match in five sets in 2025.

Seattle U remains on the road through the weekend, traveling down to Pacific on Saturday. Both matches will air on ESPN+.
