SEATTLE – A return to the state of Oregon is on tap this weekend for Seattle University men’s and women’s cross country as the Redhawks look to make their mark at the Charles Bowles Invitational. Racing begins Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with the men’s 8k, followed by a 10:20 a.m. start for the women’s 5k. The race courses will loop through both McCulloch Stadium and Bush Park in Salem, Ore.

For the women, 17 Redhawks will toe the start line on Saturday morning including Aavi Bass, Emma Bellomy, Cate Bishop, Sydney Brantley, Diana Camargo Solis, Annabelle Clapp, Lydia Dale, Mira Danish, Johnny Eggert, Adelaide Nelson, Gia Petrini, Kristina Shkalenkova, Sierra Swart, Rio Tabion, Lyla Taylor, Chloe Thompson and Mila Tsai. This will be the second 5k race of the season for Bishop, Brantley, Danish, Eggert, Petrini and Shkalenkova while the rest of the Redhawks have one 6k under their belts.
Camargo Solis, a senior, is the lone active Redhawk currently on the program’s all-time top-20 list as her personal best time of 18:13 ranks 19th fastest.
