SEATTLE – Seattle University’s cross country teams hit the road for a second consecutive week, traveling a squad of 20 runners to the Saint Mary’s Invitational on Friday, Sept. 18 at Newhall Community Park in Concord, Calif. The men’s 8k will begin at 8:45 a.m., followed by the women’s 6k at 9:30 a.m.

The course is a 2k looped course, including three loops for the women and four for the men.

Ten women and 10 men will compete for the first time this season for the Redhawks. On the women’s side, entries include senior Diana Camargo Solis, juniors Annabelle Clapp and Lydia Dale, sophomores Chloe Thompson and Mila Tsai and freshmen Aavi Bass, Emma Bellomy, Adelaide Nelson, Rio Tabion and Lyla Taylor.

For the men, entries include fifth year Khalid Hirsi, senior Dan Barreto, juniors Porter Buck and Jeremy Posdon, sophomore Roman Radecki and freshmen Mateo Cafaro, Nathaniel Laursen, Jovanny Lieb, Dylan Shugg and Preston Schmidt.

The Redhawks will be competing against numerous West Coast Conference opponents including LMU, Pacific, San Francisco, Santa Clara and Saint Mary’s, in an opportunity to preview the conference competition in advance of the WCC Championship which will be held Oct. 31 in San Diego.
