NORMAN, Okla. - Four members of the Seattle University men's golf team have been named to the Golf Coaches Association of America's Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars team this Monday. The Redhawks receiving this award are Ben Ragland, Kevin Li, Walker Lamb, and Will Koch.
This is Ben Ragland's third academic award of the season, joining his previous Academic All-West Coast Conderence Honorable Mention and College Sports Communicators Academic All-District mentions earlier this summer. Ragland had previously been named Academic All-Western Athletic Conference in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.
Kevin Li is receiving his second academic award of the season after previously been named WCC All-Academic Team Honorable Mention. This is his third career academic award, having also been awarded Academic All-WAC in the 2023-24 season.
This is Lamb's third academic nod of both the season and his career, following being named CSC Academic All-District and Academic All-WCC earlier in the offseason.
Finally, Koch is similarly receiving his third academic award, having also been named CSC Academic All-District and Academic All-WCC. This is his fourth academic award, having also been Academic All-WAC in 2023-24.
In order to be eligible for this award, an athlete must be academically and athletically at least a sophomore, participate in at least 50% of their team's competitioins, have a stroke average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative career GPA average of 3.2.
