SEATTLE – Seattle University Athletics has announced that Cross Country and Track & Field Head Coach Jordana LeSavage has resigned her position to pursue other professional opportunities.

"We thank Coach LeSavage for her leadership and care of our student athletes during her time at Seattle University," said Vice President for Athletics Shaney Fink. "We appreciate her contributions to the program and wish her the very best in her next chapter."

Current assistant coach and Redhawk alum Alex Jensen, ‘24 will serve as acting head coach. A national search for the program's next head coach will begin following the conclusion of the 2026 cross country season.

"Alex's familiarity with the program, student athletes and Seattle University’s mission will provide valuable continuity during this transition," Fink said. "We have full confidence in his ability to lead our team and are grateful for his willingness to step into this role."

Jensen joined the Seattle U coaching staff in 2025 as an assistant coach following a five-year competitive career with the Redhawks. He holds a pair of school records – the outdoor 800m run and the indoor distance medley relay. He earned Academic All-Western Athletic Conference honors throughout his career, was named to the Indoor Track All-WAC Second Team in 2025 and earned Seattle U Athletics' Eddie O'Brien Student Athlete of the Year award for 2024-25.

Jensen graduated from Seattle University with an undergraduate degree in biology. He also completed the Albers School of Business and Economics Leadership Formation Certificate program during his fifth and final year as a student athlete.
