SEATTLE - Seattle University women's golf made another addition to it's 2026-27 roster this week, landing sophomore transfer Carly Ikei from Western Washington University.
Ikei, originally from Gig Harbor, Wash., made a strong start to her collegiate career last season, being named Great Northwest Atletic Conference Freshman of the Year and First Team All-League. Across nine events, she kept a solid scoring average of 77.1, and placed second individually at the Grisham Memorial Shootout, with +1 over, 145 and four birdies over two rounds.
Ikei also had a strong career in high school, being named the Tacoma Athletic Commission MVP Spring Athlete of the Year in 2023, and was named the Gig Harbor High School Spring Athlete of the Year in 2025. Along with these local accolades, Ikei performed impressively at the state level, qualifying for the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association state championship all four years of high school, including being the 3A State Championship runner up in her senior year.
"I am incredibly excited to welcome Carly to our program," said head coach Marc Chandonnet. "She is not only exceptionally talented on the golf ocurse, but she's also demonstrated remarkable academic success that speaks to her discipline and commitment. With her passion for the game and relentless work ethic, I'm confident Carly will make an immediate impact both in the classroom and on the course. I can't wait to watch her develop into the outstanding student athlete and champion I know she can be."
