CORVALLIS, ORE. — The Seattle U track and field team delivered another banner weekend at the OSU High Performance Meet. 

In total, the Redhawks recorded 19 PR’s, along with nine changes to the school’s all-time top 10 records

After breaking Seattle U’s all-time men’s 800m record last month, Seku Sanders added his name to the Redhawks’ 400m ranks with a 49.12, good for the sixth-best time in school history. 

In the women’s 400m, Kristina Shkalenkova clocked a personal-best of 58.22, moving into ninth all-time. 

Riley Tricas led the way in the men’s 800m, posting a 1:53.74 time to rank ninth in Redhawks history. Dan Barreto (1:59.15) and Diego Razo-Castaneda (2:00.49) also notched PR’s. 

Annabelle Clapp improved upon the third-best women’s 800m all-time with a 2:08.89, just one-tenth of a second shy of second place. She also lowered her own mark in the 1500m, finishing in 4:26.24 to improve her standing in the all-time list. Clapp finished just behind Azalea Groleau, who ran a season-best 4:35.83. Groleau ranks third all-time with a 4:30.34 1500m. 

Jordan White (4:53.84) and Peyton Basilio (4:58.84) each turned in PR performances in the women’s 1500m. 

In the men’s 1500m, Roman Radecki (3:56.68) and Khalid Hirsi (4:04.12) also set personal bests, with Radecki finishing less than two seconds outside of the top-10. 

Mila Tsai (2:19.77), White (2:21.83), and Sierra Swart (2:26.01) added to the impressive women’s 800m race with their own PR efforts. 

Jeremy Posdon cut over 19 seconds from his steeplechase time, finishing in 9:20.34 to leap from the eighth-fastest to fourth-fastest men’s steeplechase time in Seattle U history. Porter Buck also set a PR of 9:39.94 in the event, propelling him from 10th-fastest to ninth-fastest all-time. 

On the women’s side, Lydia Dale set a PR with an 11:26.61 time, improving upon her seventh-fastest time in school history. 

In the men’s javelin, Rock Gignac had a personal best throw of 48.25m, the sixth-furthest in Seattle U history; teammate Zachary Schriner also holds a top 10 spot with his 47.68m throw earlier in the season. Jackson Jarrett set his PR with a 42.23m throw. 

The Redhawks men and women’s 4x400m relays had their best performances of the season at 3:23.85 and 3:58.63, respectively. The women’s time ranks as the 10th-fastest in school history.  

Seattle U will return to Oregon next weekend for the Oregon Twilight in Eugene on May 8, and the Portland Twilight on May 9.
