REDHAWK HEADLINES
SERIES HISTORY
This will be the first all-time meeting between the Redhawks and Tigers. It will also be the first matchup with a member of the Southwest Athletic Conference for Seattle U.
2ND ANNUAL HBCU SEATTLE SERIES
This will be the second entry in the Seattle HBCU Series, an event to highlight baseball at historically black colleges and universities. In partnership with Baseball Beyond Borders and the Seattle Mariners, this year’s series finale will be played at T-Mobile Park on Sunday, March 8.
INAUGURAL SERIES
Seattle U swept Coppin State in three games last season during the inaugural HBCU Seattle Series. The Redhawks outscored the Eagles 21-6 in their only DI series sweep of the season.
NEW SEASON. NEW CONFERENCE.
2026 will mark the first season for Seattle U baseball in the West Coast Conference. The last 13 years were spent in the Western Athletic Conference where SU compiled a record of 148-177. The Redhawks captured the 2016 WAC Regular Season Championship behind a stellar season from Tarik Skubal (6-1, 2.11 ERA).
FARRELL RACKS UP Ks
Travis Farrell cracked the top 10 in program history for strikeouts in a single game when he recorded 10 vs Holy Cross on February 27. He tied Josh Thompson and Morgan White for second most. Nestor German and Tarik Skubal both recorded 12 for the program lead, with Skubal hitting that total twice.
KOMINE CRUSHING IT
Redshirt Junior Hunter Komine has had a standout start to his third season with the program. The outfielder leads the team with a .375 batting and has put up several key at-bats, including sparking a 5-run 9th inning vs Washington.
MORE MORELL
Jake Morell is tied for the team lead with six appearances on the mound this season and has a team-low 2.70 ERA. He has allowed an earned run in just one of those six appearances this season.
KNOWLES AND RHEIN IN TOP 10
Payton Knowles and Kenneth Rhein both rank top 10 in on base percentage in the West Coast Conference. Seattle U is one of three schools to have at least two players in the top 10.
