CORVALLIS, Ore. — It was one personal best after another at the OSU PNW Invite. 

At the weekend event hosted by Oregon State University from March 20-21, the Seattle U track and field team compiled 16 new individual PR’s, including three new entries into the Redhawks’ all-time top 10 list

In the men’s steeplechase a pair of Redhawks made history. Jeremy Posdon recorded a 9:39.86 time for the seventh-best time in school history, while Porter Buck followed closely behind at 9:49.71 to claim the eighth-best mark.

The women’s steeplechase also produced a new top-10 entry; Lydia Dale clocked an 11:44.81 time, to move into seventh place in school history. 

Personal bests were plentiful across all events in the two-day event. 

In the women’s 5000m race, Diana Camargo-Solis recorded a PR with a time of 18:34.86. Azalea Groleau – the school’s all-time record holder in the event – made her outdoor season debut with a 17:12.65 finish. On the men’s side, Roman Radecki opened his collegiate outdoor track career with a 14:51.08 performance, just six seconds shy of a top-10 time in school history. 

The distance runners weren’t done setting PR’s; in the women’s 1500m, Jordan White and Mira Danish set personal bests with times of 4:54.68 and 5:04.73, respectively. 

Alexzander Osorio set a PR in the men’s 400m with a time of 50.88, coming within fractions of a second of cracking Seattle U’s all-time top 10. In the men’s 800m, Barreto set a personal best of 2:02.36. On the women’s side, Danish (2:22.18) and Sierra Swart (2:27.12) also recorded PRs, while Kristina Shkalenkova led the Redhawks with a 2:19.77 finish. 

Matthew Fiso set a PR in the 100m dash (11.42s) and also competed in the 200m race and triple jump. 

In the field events, Nate Thomas set a pair of PR’s in the long jump (5.95m) and triple jump (12.70m). Fiso led the Redhawks in the triple jump with a mark of 14.11m, just shy of his school-record personal best of 14.28m. Sean Ellison recorded a 13.32m triple jump, matching his personal best and the eighth-best mark in Redhawks history. 

In the women’s triple jump, Zoe Tibbo recorded a mark of 11.13m. Tibbo holds the sixth-best triple jump in school history at 11.56m. 

Another wave of PR’s came in the throwing events. In the men’s javelin, Jackson Jarrett set a PR with a 42.00m throw. In the women’s javelin, Branndi Bowechop recorded a PR of 30.28m.

The Redhawks also competed in the men’s and women’s 4x400m relays. On the men’s side, Osorio, Riley Tricas, Razo-Castaneda and Seku Sanders finished in 3:29.24. On the women’s side, Kaylyn Huynh, Shkalenkova, Jackie Garcia-Sandoval and Annabelle Clapp placed sixth with a 4:10.43 time. 

The OSU PNW Invite marked the first of two trips to Corvallis for the Redhawks, who will return for the OSU High Performance Meet from May 1-2. First, they will resume competition Apr. 3-4 with split-squad events including the Stanford Invite in Palo Alto, Calif., the Mike Fanelli Track Classic in San Francisco, Calif., and the Whitworth Peace Meet in Spokane, Wash.
