SEATTLE — The Seattle U track and field team will embrace a full weekend of competition at the OSU PNW Invite, hosted by Oregon State University from March 20-21 in Corvallis, Ore.
Last week, inclement weather sidelined the Redhawks in sprinting and jumping events. Seattle U still competed in throwing events, with Rock Gignac, Zachary Schriner and Jackson Jarrett representing the Redhawks in the men’s javelin, and Rachel Albright competing in the women’s hammer throw.
Gignac excelled with a 45.84m javelin throw, approaching his personal-best of 46.50m, which stands as the seventh-best throw in school history.
Seattle U will be represented across a full range of events at the OSU PNW Invite, which will include a bevy of distance runners entering their first competition of the outdoor season.
Azalea Groleau will be looking to improve on her historic personal best times, entering the season holding the best 5000m time, second-best 3000m time, and third-best 1500m time in Seattle U history. Groleau’s 2026 outdoor season will cement a decorated Seattle U career that also includes the top 6k and third-best 5k in Redhawk cross country history.
Annabelle Clapp can also be easily spotted in Seattle U’s record books; she holds the seventh-best 400m dash, and the fourth-best 800m dash in school history. Clapp also was part of the best 4x400m relay in school history.
On the men’s side, Roman Radecki will make his collegiate outdoor track debut after vaulting into the cross country record books as a freshman last fall, recording the 12th fastest 8k in Seattle U history.
The Redhawks will compete in the OSU PNW Invite for the first time since 2024 and will look to replicate their success from that meet, which yielded 27 total personal-best performances.
Current veterans stood out at that meet, including then-sophomore Zoe Tibbo, who finished first in the triple jump with a mark of 11.50m. Groleau recorded the second-best 1500m finish in school history (4:30.34), and JR Zamora posted the fourth-best men’s long jump in school history (6.49m).
This year’s meet will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20. It will be the first of two trips to Corvallis for the Redhawks, with the OSU High Performance Meet slated for May 1-2.
