SOMIS, Calif. - Freshman Jacob Kang reached his first-ever collegiate top 10 finish at the Bill Cullum Invitational, with Walker Lamb also finishing in the top 20. As a team, the Redhawks finished seventh out of 12 teams with a +49 over. 

Before today, Kang's best finish was 27th place at the the Oregon State Invitational. Kang eclipsed that placement in his fifth collegiate tournament, finishing as the top Redhawk. He completed the 36-hole tournament with a score of +8 over 224, tying for 10th place. Kang also shot the Redhawks' only round under par, with -1 under 71 in the second round. 

"Congratulations to Jacob Kang on his first top 10 performance on a golf course that tests every part of your game," said head coach Marc Chandonnet. "It's great to see."

Lamb barely missed the top 15, tying for 16th with +10 over 226.

Will Koch shot +18 over 231 for 33rd place, Kevin Li finished 55th with +20 over 236, and Jakob Balkovec placed 61st shooting +23 over 239. 

The Redhawks next take action at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, held Feb. 23-25 in Palm Desert, Calif.
