PALM DESERT, Calif. - Jacob Kang and Walker Lamb both finished within the top 20 at the 54-hole Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate this week, marking Kang's second consecutive top 15 finish. As a team, the Redhawks finished ninth of 23 teams, at +1.
The freshman Kang earned his 13th place finish with his first tournament shooting under par, carding a -5 under, 211. Kang had 12 birdies and tied his career-low round of -2, 70 in both the first and third round of play.
Lamb also had a strong tournament, shooting -3 under, 213 with six birdies and an eagle. His 17th place finish marks Lamb's fifth tournament of the season placing in the top 20 individual competitors.
Kevin Li also finished under par, shooting -1 under, 215 and finishing in 31st place with 13 birdies.
Burly Hildreth carded +10 over, 226 for 85th place, and Will Koch ended in 95th place with +13 over, 229.
"It was a respectable finish," said head coach Marc Chandonnet, "especially considering our guys didn't have their best stuff. Our best golf lies ahead, but it's very exciting to see some fantastic play out of Jacob Kang again this week."
The Redhawks will next take action at the Watney Invitational, taking place from March 2-3 in Fresno, Calif.
