REDHAWK HEADLINES:
SERIES HISTORY
The Redhawks are 4-18 all-time vs the Lancers, with the series dating back to 2019. The once conference foes have met 13 times in Riverside, with the Lancers holding the 10-3 advantage on home turf. Last season the Redhawks dropped their series 1-2 at home.
SLOW STARTS
Seattle U did not get off to quick starts during their 3-game series with CSUN. The Redhawks were outscored 21-2 in the first two innings, with their two lone runs coming in the first inning of the season opener. That 2-run lead after their half of the first was the only lead of the series.
NEW SEASON. NEW CONFERENCE.
2026 will mark the first season for Seattle U baseball in the West Coast Conference. The last 13 years were spent in the Western Athletic Conference where SU compiled a record of 148-177. The Redhawks captured the 2016 WAC Regular Season Championship behind a stellar season from Tarik Skubal (6-1, 2.11 ERA).
56th SEASON OF REDHAWK BASEBALL
This season will be the 56th in Seattle U baseball history, with the first official season coming in 1947. The program played from 1947-86 before baseball was folded at the university. Alongside Head Coach Donny Harrel, the Redhawks made their return in 2010 as an NCAA Division I independent.
RHEIN STANDOUT IN OPENING SERIES
Kenneth Rhein announced himself in the opening series at CSUN. The junior transfer went 6-7 with four doubles and two RBI. He also drew four walks as his batting average through three games is .857, which leads the nation after the first weekend of play.
LOSS OF OFFENSIVE PRODUCTION
Seattle U lost 78% of their run production from last season. Four of their top five in runs batted in, home runs, and runs scored did not return to the program in 2026. Jared Stevenson (.260, 27 RBI) and Hunter Komine (.231, 10 RBI) are the top offensive returners from last season.
