SEATTLE – Seattle University men’s basketball is back home for a three-game West Coast Conference stretch, beginning Sunday, Feb. 15 versus Oregon State. The Redhawks and Beavers tip off at 5 p.m. in the Redhawk Center on ESPN+.

  • Seattle U is coming off a hard-fought battle at West Coast Conference leader Santa Clara on Wednesday. The Redhawks fell 84-72 as the Broncos remained unbeaten at home this season.
  • The Redhawks moved to 15-11 overall and 4-9 in WCC play.
  • After struggling offensively in the first half, the Redhawks broke out of the shooting slump in the second half, hitting 15-28 from the field (53.6%), including 7-9 from three (77.8%).
  • The Redhawks dished 18 assists in the game, the most since Jan. 4 at Saint Mary’s when they also had 18. That total matches the third most they’ve had in a game this season.
  • Brayden Maldonado and Junseok Yeo led the way with 17 points apiece. Maldonado connected on five triples while Yeo tallied his first career double-double, adding a career-high 12 rebounds.
  • This marked the third straight game and sixth time this season Yeo has led the team in scoring.
  • Houran Dan came off the bench to add 11 points, his sixth double-digit scoring output of the season.
  • The Redhawks had their best outing from the charity stripe, hitting 10-of-11 free throws (90.9%).
  • Jojo Murphy buried a pair of threes, bringing his career scoring total to 1,496.
  • After going 12-3 through their first 15 games on the season (all played in 2025), the Redhawks have now gone 3-8 since the calendar flipped to 2026.

ABOUT THE SERIES VS OREGON STATE

  • This marks the 24th all-time meeting between Seattle U and Oregon State with the Beavers holding a 17-6 advantage.
  • The teams last met on Jan. 8, 2026 in Corvallis as the Beavers won their second straight in the series, 68-55.
  • Following a tightly contested first half that saw OSU lead 37-35, Seattle U was limited to just five field goals in the second half and shot a season-low 17 percent from the floor in the WCC loss.
  • Brayden Maldonado had 13 points while John Christofilis was the only other Redhawk in double figures, coming off the bench to score 11.
  • The Redhawks are 4-1 in games played in Seattle, including the last win in the series - 83-80 on Nov. 17, 2010.
  • The teams have five total meetings during Seattle U’s modern DI era. The Beavers hold a slight edge in those games, 3-2.
  • This marks the second time that the teams will meet as conference opponents.

RECORD BOOK WATCH

  • Will Heimbrodt has 63 blocks through 26 games, leading the WCC and ranking among the nation’s best in the statistical category.
  • With five games remaining in the regular season, Heimbrodt has moved into second in Seattle U’s single-season record book.
  • Seattle U’s all-time record for blocks in a single season is 79, set by Aaron Menzies during the 2017-18 season.
  • Meanwhile, Heimbrodt’s 79 career blocks is eighth all-time at Seattle U. In a three-way tie for fifth are Jeffrey McDaniel (2002-06), David White (2005-07) and Riley Grigsby (2019-23) with 82.
  • Maleek Arington’s 58 steals this season moves him into the Seattle U top-10 for a single season. In a tie for eighth are Eric Briggs (1986-87) and Andrew Lang (1992-93) with 63.
  • Arington’s 131 career steals at Seattle U ranks No. 9 all-time. In eighth is Eric Briggs (1986-88) with 132.
  • John Christofilis has poured in 140 threes in two-plus seasons at SU, putting him just four threes shy of entering the SU all-time top-list this year. Sitting tied for 10th are Mack Junior (95-99) and Arne Klubberud (95-99), each with 144 career threes.

NUMBERS WATCH

  • The 83-81 win over Pepperdine on Feb. 4 was No. 95 at Seattle U for Head Coach Chris Victor. He is five wins away from the century mark while leading the Redhawks. Victor is also two wins away from 200 for his career as a head coach, which also includes six seasons at Citrus College in California.
  • Maleek Arington enters Sunday’s match-up with Oregon State with 916 career points and eyes becoming a third member of the 2025-26 squad to surpass 1,000 career points. He would join Jojo Murphy (1,496 career points) and Brayden Maldonado (1,395 career points).
