SEATTLE – Seattle University men’s basketball returns to Seattle to begin a three-game homestand this week. The stretch tips off on Wednesday, Dec. 3 with a 7 p.m. tilt at the Redhawk Center against University of Puget Sound. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

- Seattle U went 1-1 at the Resorts World Classic in Las Vegas last week, defeating Texas State, 66-52, before falling 74-71 to UC Santa Barbara.
- Will Heimbrodt led the Redhawks in scoring in both games, finishing with 17 points against Texas State and 20 against UCSB.
- Junseok Yeo also had two solid offensive performances, finishing with 16 points against Texas State and a career-high 18 points versus UCSB.
- Brayden Maldonado made his first 21 free throws of the season before suffering a miss. He currently ranks third in the WCC and 11th in the nation at 96.4% (27-28) from the stripe.

- Maleek Arington enters Friday’s match-up at Texas State with 842 career points and will eye becoming a third member of the 2025-26 squad to surpass 1,000 career points. He would join Jojo Murphy (1,410 career points) and Brayden Maldonado (1,132 career points).
ABOUT THE SERIES VS PUGET SOUND
- This marks the 53rd all-time meeting between Seattle U and University of Puget Sound, and the first since the 2022-23 season.
- Seattle U won the most recent meeting, 106-55, at the Redhawk Center on Nov. 9, 2022.
- Five Redhawks scored in double figures in the last meeting, paced by Anjaylo Lloyd’s 21 points. Alex Schumacher and Jaren Nafarrete added 15 points apiece.
- The teams have three meetings in Seattle U’s modern DI era. On 2017, Seattle U scored 121 points, the third most in a game in program history.
- The teams met most frequently during the 1950s, 80s and 90s.

- Will Heimbrodt is fifth in scoring (17.0 ppg), second in FG% (61.5%) and leads the league in blocks per game (3.3).

SEATTLE STORYLINES
- Seattle U’s 77-69 win at ACC member Stanford on Friday, Nov. 21 marked the first ever win against the Cardinal in seven all-time meetings.
- The Redhawks shot at a blistering 64.5% clip (37-57 FGs) on Nov. 12 versus Eastern Washington, marking their highest field-goal percentage since hitting at a 68.4% clip (39-57 FGs) on Jan. 24, 2009 in a 99-82 win over SIU-Edwardsville.
- The Redhawks had another stellar shooting night on Nov. 15, hitting at a 62% clip (31-50) against the Bengals, including 11-20 from three.
- In game-by-game stats that date back through the 2001-02 season, this marks the first back-to-back outings shooting over 60% from the field.
- 2025-26 marks the Redhawks’ return the West Coast Conference. Seattle U was a one time member of the then West Coast Athletic Conference from 1971-1980, before dropping from NCAA Division I. The university was accepted into the West Coast Conference on May 10, 2024 and began its return to competition in the WCC in fall 2025.
- Seattle U has three international players hailing from Asia Pacific countries, including senior Junseok Yeo (South Korea), sophomore Houran Dan (China) and redshirt-freshman Yuto Kawashima (Japan).
- Based on roster data provided to the NCAA by member institutions, Yeo is the lone player from Korea on a Division I roster, Dan is one of just five players from China on a DI roster and Kawashima is one of seven players from Japan on a DI roster.
- Seattle U hosts all four other Division I programs in the state of Washington during the 2025-26 season. The Redhawks beat Eastern Washington, 94-67, on Nov. 12. They also host Washington on Dec. 19, Washington State on Dec. 30 and Gonzaga on Jan. 17.
