SEATTLE – Seattle University men’s basketball returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 13 seeking to conclude a perfect three-game homestand when they host Warner Pacific in a 5 p.m. tip-off from the Redhawk Center. The game will broadcast live on ESPN+.

- Seattle U earned a 75-68 win over UTEP on Dec. 7 at Climate Pledge Arena, moving to 7-2 on the season.
- The seven wins through nine games remains the best start to a season since 2022-23. That year, the Redhawks won five straight before suffering a loss. Their record went to 8-2 before suffering a third loss.
- Brayden Maldonado matched his career high with 28 points in the win over UTEP, going 9-for-13 from the field, including 5-of-9 from three.
- Will Heimbrodt added 13 points and Austin Maurer had 11 points and eight boards, giving Seattle U its sixth game of the season with three players in double figures.
- The Redhawks shot better than 47% from the field against the Miners, including 43.5% from three (10-for-23).
- The Redhawks have shot better than 50% from the field in four of their first nine games and have shot over 45% in every contest. Their season average of 52.0% ranks among the best in the nation.
- Brayden Maldonado made his first 21 free throws of the season before suffering a miss. He is currently riding a streak of 15 consecutive makes and ranks second in the WCC and 4th in the nation at 97.3% (36-37) from the stripe.
ABOUT THE SERIES VS WARNER PACIFIC
- The Redhawks and Knights have five previous all-time meetings with Seattle U leading the all-time series, 3-2.
- The teams last met on Dec. 10, 2004 with Warner Pacific winning 69-66 in Seattle.
- The teams also met three times in the 1980s and once in 1996.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE STAT LEADERS

- The Redhawks are second in the league in team FG% (52.0%), 3PT FG% (39.7%), blocks per game (4.89), steals per game (8.89) and turnover margin (3.67).
- Brayden Maldonado ranks second in scoring (17.7 pgg). He also ranks fourth in FG% (56.7%) and second free-throw percentage (97.3%).
- Will Heimbrodt is 10th in scoring (14.9 ppg), third in FG% (58.2%) and leads the league in blocks per game (2.8).
- Maleek Arington leads the WCC in steals per game (2.4) and ranks fourth in assists per game (5.1).
NCAA NET RANKING
- The first NET ranking of the season debuted on Dec. 1. Seattle U debuted at 109 which was the fifth highest in the West Coast Conference.
- In games played through Dec. 10, the Redhawks sit at 108, still fifth in the WCC behind Gonzaga (4), Saint Mary’s (17), Santa Clara (52) and Pacific (82).

SEATTLE STORYLINES
- Seattle U’s 77-69 win at ACC member Stanford on Friday, Nov. 21 marked the first ever win against the Cardinal in seven all-time meetings.
- The Redhawks shot at a blistering 64.5% clip (37-57 FGs) on Nov. 12 versus Eastern Washington, marking their highest field-goal percentage since hitting at a 68.4% clip (39-57 FGs) on Jan. 24, 2009 in a 99-82 win over SIU-Edwardsville.
- The Redhawks had another stellar shooting night on Nov. 15, hitting at a 62% clip (31-50) against the Bengals, including 11-20 from three.
- In game-by-game stats that date back through the 2001-02 season, this marks the first back-to-back outings shooting over 60% from the field.
- 2025-26 marks the Redhawks’ return the West Coast Conference. Seattle U was a one time member of the then West Coast Athletic Conference from 1971-1980, before dropping from NCAA Division I. The university was accepted into the West Coast Conference on May 10, 2024 and began its return to competition in the WCC in fall 2025.
- Seattle U has three international players hailing from Asia Pacific countries, including senior Junseok Yeo (South Korea), sophomore Houran Dan (China) and redshirt-freshman Yuto Kawashima (Japan).
- Based on roster data provided to the NCAA by member institutions, Yeo is the lone player from Korea on a Division I roster, Dan is one of just five players from China on a DI roster and Kawashima is one of seven players from Japan on a DI roster.
- Seattle U hosts all four other Division I programs in the state of Washington during the 2025-26 season. The Redhawks beat Eastern Washington, 94-67, on Nov. 12. They also host Washington on Dec. 19, Washington State on Dec. 30 and Gonzaga on Jan. 17.
HOME COURT ADVANTAGE
Seattle U has gone 56-14 (.800) on its home court during the past four+ seasons under Head Coach Chris Victor. That record includes a 41-10 (.804) mark at the Redhawk Center and a 15-4 (.789) mark in 19 total games played at Climate Pledge Arena.
