SEATTLE – Riding high after a big road win at ACC member Stanford, Seattle University men’s basketball heads to Las Vegas for a pair of games as a part of the Resorts World Classic. The Redhawks (4-1) will face Texas State (4-2) on Friday, Nov. 28 at 11 a.m. at Resorts World Events Center. They will then face either Lehigh or UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, Nov. 29. All games will be broadcast on FloCollege.com.

- Seattle U hit the road for the first time last week and came up with a big 77-69 win at ACC member Stanford on Friday, Nov. 21.
- The win marked the third straight for the Redhawks and the first ever against the Cardinal in seven all-time meetings.
- The Redhawks trailed by as many as 13 in the second half before mounting a comeback, outscoring Stanford 34-12 over the final 10 minutes of play.
- Junseok Yeo led the Redhawks in scoring, finishing with 15 points. Will Heimbrodt added 13 points and a career high seven blocks. Houran Dan matched his career high with 11 points. Maleek Arington added nine points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals.
- Seattle U’s 4-1 start to the season is the best since 2022-23 when it won its first five games before suffering a defeat.
- Brayden Maldonado is a perfect 21-21 from the free-throw line to start the season. He went 6-for-6 down the stretch at Stanford to help seal the win. He is one of two WCC players and one of 16 players in the nation who have yet to miss a free throw.
- John Christofilis has poured in 118 threes in two-plus seasons at SU, putting him in striking distance of entering the SU all-time top-10 list this year. Sitting tied for 10th are Mack Junior (95-99) and Arne Klubberud (95-99), each with 144 career threes.
- Maleek Arington enters Friday’s match-up at Texas State with 837 career points and will eye becoming a third member of the 2025-26 squad to surpass 1,000 career points. He would join Jojo Murphy (1,403 career points) and Brayden Maldonado (1,113 career points).
ABOUT THE SERIES VS TEXAS STATE
- This marks just the fifth all-time meeting between Seattle U and Texas State.
- The teams last met on Nov. 14, 2014 in Seattle with the Bobcats winning 62-53.
- The three previous meetings all came during the 2013-14 season as the two programs were briefly Western Athletic Conference opponents.
- Texas State swept the home-and-home, regular-season series, then won the season’s third meeting at the WAC Tournament in Las Vegas.
ABOUT THE SERIES VS LEHIGH
- This would mark the first ever meeting between Seattle U and Lehigh.
ABOUT THE SERIES VS UC SANTA BARBARA
- This would mark the 11th all-time meeting between Seattle U and UC Santa Barbara.
- Seattle U leads the series, 6-5, though the Gauchos have won three of the last four - all during SU’s modern DI era.
- The Redhawks won the last meeting, an 80-76 final at UCSB on Dec. 30, 2016. Seattle U trailed by 20 midway through the second half that night, but rallied for the big win. Brendan Westendorf led the charge with a personal 11-0 run late in the game and finished with a carer-high 28 points.
- Should the Redhawks and Gauchos meet on Saturday, this would mark the first meeting to NOT take place in the month of December.

- The Redhawks are tied for first in the league in team FG% (53.0%) and rank second in team 3PT FG% (43.3%) and team blocks per game (6.0).
- Brayden Maldonado leads the WCC in points per game (20.2), 3PT FG% (56.0%) and FT% (100.0). He also ranks third in FG% (57.9%), third in steals per game (2.0) and is tied for third in 3PT FGs per game (2.8).
- Will Heimbrodt leads the league in blocks per game (4.0).
- Maleek Arington ranks first in steals per game (2.6).

SEATTLE STORYLINES
- The Redhawks shot at a blistering 64.5% clip (37-57 FGs) on Nov. 12 versus Eastern Washington, marking their highest field-goal percentage since hitting at a 68.4% clip (39-57 FGs) on Jan. 24, 2009 in a 99-82 win over SIU-Edwardsville.
- The Redhawks had another stellar shooting night on Nov. 15, hitting at a 62% clip (31-50) against the Bengals, including 11-20 from three.
- In game-by-game stats that date back through the 2001-02 season, this marks the first back-to-back outings shooting over 60% from the field.
- 2025-26 marks the Redhawks’ return the West Coast Conference. Seattle U was a one time member of the then West Coast Athletic Conference from 1971-1980, before dropping from NCAA Division I. The university was accepted into the West Coast Conference on May 10, 2024 and began its return to competition in the WCC in fall 2025.
- Seattle U has three international players hailing from Asia Pacific countries, including senior Junseok Yeo (South Korea), sophomore Houran Dan (China) and redshirt-freshman Yuto Kawashima (Japan).
- Based on roster data provided to the NCAA by member institutions, Yeo is the lone player from Korea on a Division I roster, Dan is one of just five players from China on a DI roster and Kawashima is one of seven players from Japan on a DI roster.
- Seattle U hosts all four other Division I programs in the state of Washington during the 2025-26 season. The Redhawks beat Eastern Washington, 94-67, on Nov. 12. They also host Washington on Dec. 19, Washington State on Dec. 30 and Gonzaga on Jan. 17.
