REDHAWK HEADLINES

SERIES HISTORY
Seattle U is 3-2 all-time vs Loyola Marymount, with the series dating back to 2017. Their last meeting came in 2023, a 2-3 loss for the Redhawks. Jaden Manetta scored two goals within three minutes of each other, but SU conceded a goal in the 83rd that proved to be the difference.

LAST TIME OUT
The Redhawks fell at home to #21 Oregon State, 3-5, last Saturday. Seattle U fell behind by three through 48 minutes of play, before finally getting on the board in the 63rd. The two sides would exchange goals over the next 30 minutes in the high scoring loss.

HOME FORM
The Redhawks suffered their second home loss of the season in last Saturday’s match with Oregon State. It was the first time in the Nate Daligcon era that SU lost multiple home matches in a single season.

FROM THE WAC TO THE WCC
The 2025 season will be the first for the Redhawks in the West Coast Conference after spending the last 13 in the Western Athletic Conference. Seattle U won a combined 10 conference championships between regular season and tournament, and posted a record of 83-19-14 during their time in the WAC. Their win total and conference championships are both conference records.

THORNE-THOMSEN HAVING CAREER YEAR
Senior Lars Thorne-Thomsen has burst onto the scene in his final season. After having no goals in the first 24 appearances of his career, Lars has scored three goals in 10 matches this season. He ranks second on the team in goals behind Yeider Zuluaga.

HATA THE IRONMAN
Eiji Hata is the only Redhawk to appear in, and start, every match of the 2025 season. His 1242 minutes logged thus far also tops his time on the field last season.

ZULUAGA LEADS THE WAY
Yeider Zuluaga leads the Redhawks with nine goals and five assists this season. His goal and points total also ranks second in the WCC. He is the third Redhawk to score 9+ goals in a season in the last five years.

4th FOR THE NEWCOMERS
Seattle U came in a tie for 4th place in the Preseason WCC Coaches Poll, level with San Francisco. San Diego, last season’s conference winner, was picked 1st, followed by Oregon State and Portland. The Redhawks also received votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 preseason poll.
