Sophomore Madyn Cervellera and redshirt junior Yasemin Elmas each combined for 23 kills to lead all Redhawks over the weekend. Elmas led the pair with a .367 hitting percentage spanning nine sets. Senior Marley Hardgrave led all Redhawks with a .452 hitting percentage, cataloging 15 kills on 31 attempts.

The tournament features a few familiar faces, with Manhattan journeying the furthest of the trio. The Redhawks and Jaspers meet for the first time in program history on Saturday afternoon.
Between Idaho and CSU Fullerton, the Redhawks hold a combined 6-5 record against the pair. SU meets the Titans first with Thursday’s match the third ever meeting. The two last met in 2019 with Seattle U leveling the series behind a five set victory in 2019. Thursday’s match is the first home match in the series for either the Redhawks or Titans, only having met on neutral floors since 2009.
SU’s neighbor Idaho travels for the 10th ever meeting against the Redhawks and fourth ever contest in Seattle. The Redhawks lead the series 5-4 after clinching the last two matches against the Vandals, most recently defeating them in a three set sweep in Moscow in 2023. Since the series began in 2008, the Redhawks are 2-1 at home against Idaho.
CSU Fullerton enters the weekend also 2-1 on the season, capturing wins over Idaho and Oral Roberts in Moscow, while falling to SU’s WCC counterpart Portland to open the year. SU’s second opponent of the weekend, Idaho, started its season at home posting a 1-2 record at the Vandal Volleyball Invitational. The Vandals fell to both CSU Fullerton and Portland after starting off the season with a sweep over Oral Roberts.
Manhattan began the season at the Lob Invitational, going 1-2 through opening weekend. The Jaspers defeated Houston Christian in three sets while falling to Northern Arizona and host New Mexico. They are 1-3 on the year after an early trip to Seattle led to an early week matchup with Seattle Pacific.
Following the weekend, the Redhawks head back out on the road, journeying to the SIUE Tournament in Edwardsville, Illinois. They’ll revisit Air Force while also squaring off with Austin Peay and host SIUE. Seattle U returns to the Redhawk Center on October 2 for its WCC home debut against Washington State.
