ARLINGTON, TX - Behind a record day from Vicente Feliciano, Seattle U baseball took down UT Arlington, 6-2, Thursday night in Texas. The Redhawks record 12 hits, five of which went for extra bases, as they took game one of their pivotal series with the Mavericks.
Feliciano started his night by flying out to right field in the 1st, in what was the only at bat that didn't result in a hit for him. He scorched a 2-RBI double in the 3rd to give the Redhawks the lead and followed that with an RBI single in the 5th. The 7th and 9th saw two more doubles being added to his total, tying him with Grant Heiser (2020-24) for most doubles in a single game in program history.
Jake Wagoner, a Texas native, joined in on the fun with a 2-for-5 night including a 2-run home run in the 7th. Michael Tsoukalas drove in the other Redhawk run on the night with an RBI single in the 6th.
On the mound, Micah Hagler (4-3) secured his fourth win of the season after going six innings while allowing two earned. Reid Madariaga would close out the final three innings by not allowing a single run, earning him his second save of the season.
The win moves the Redhawks to 19-31 on the season and to 7-15 in conference play. The win also pulls them to a half game back, as of the conclusion of the game, of Utah Tech for the 8th and final spot in the Western Athletic Conference tournament. The Redhawks need to finish a game clear of the Trailblazers to punch a ticket to the tournament.
