EUGENE, Ore. – Lilianne Hargreaves set a new school record in the 1500m in Seattle University's final meet before the Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships. In addition to Hargreaves' new record, Manthita Wague recorded two new all-time top-ten results for the Redhawks at the Oregon Twilight Meet.
Hargreaves had been second in Seattle U history in the 1500m entering this meet. She then shaved four seconds off of Sophie Curatilo's school record, set in 2015, and five seconds of her previous personal best, running a 4:24.62.
Wague ran a 12.80-second 100m. That put her tied for ninth in Seattle U history with Michelle Newblom, who ran a 12.80 in 2021. Wague would also improve on her personal best in the long jump by .09m, going from sixth in SU history with a 5.55m to fourth with a 5.64m, just .01m behind Reyna Dismukes for third.
On the men's side, Lance Mason won his heat in the 1500m, running a 4:01.53.
Next up is the WAC Outdoor Championships, held in Arlington, Texas. That will be a three-day meet, beginning May 15.
