LAKE NATOMA, Calif. – Seattle University women's rowing sent all three of its competing boats into the Grand Finals at the 2025 Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships on Lake Natoma. The Redhawks raced a pair of varsity eights as well as a novice four against stiff West Coast competition.
The Varsity 8+ placed fourth in both its prelims (7:17.35) and Grand Finals (7:18.065) races, trailing Sacramento State, Portland and Santa Clara.
The Second Varsity 8+ also placed fourth in its prelim (7:40.911) race and Grand Finals (7:44.053) race, besting future West Coast Conference rival Santa Clara both times.
The Redhawks' Novice 4+ took second in their prelim heat with a time of 8:01.937, earning a spot in the Grand Finals. The squad finished fourth (8:09.789) behind Santa Clara, Portland and Puget Sound, while besting another future WCC rival, LMU.
"I'm proud of how the team performed this weekend," said Head Coach Jenny Park. "Both eights had their fastest times of the season, and the four stayed composed in tight racing for both their heat and final."
The Redhawks close out the 2025 season on Saturday, May 3, racing in the Windermere Cup on Lake Washington. For more information click here.
