SPOKANE, Wash. – Seattle University women's rowing went head-to-head in three races with future West Coast Conference foe Gonzaga Friday afternoon on Silver Lake in Spokane, Wash.
The Redhawks took second in all three races against the Zags, who have won nine consecutive WCC Championships, but displayed their strongest performances of the season.
In the Varsity 8+ race, Seattle U finished in a season-best time of 7:22.01. The Redhawks' Second Varsity 8+ boat finished in 7:45.33 while the Redhawks' Novice 4+ finished in 7:52.0.
"Despite the results, we had great races," said Head Coach Jenny Park. "All of our boats had their fastest times of the season and we look forward to continuing that into WIRAs next week."
