LA JOLLA, Calif. – A strong finish helped the Seattle University Redhawks take fifth in the 20-team UC San Diego Invitational. Kevin Li led the way, finishing second overall at +1 across 54 holes.

Li's second-place finish was his best this season and best since winning the WAC Championship last season. Li's second-round score of -3 under, 69 was his best round since a career-best -6 under, 65 at the Palouse Collegiate earlier this season. It was his sixth round under 70 this season.

Will Koch was second amongst Redhawks, finishing at +11, good for 28th. Koch improved in each round, from +8 over, 80 in round one to +3 over, 75 and even-par in rounds two and three. Four of Koch's last five rounds have been under 75.

Finishing just one stroke back from Koch were Walker Lamb and Conrad Chisman at +12. Lamb had at least two birdies in every round, including three during his +2 over, 74 round two. Chisman finished the competition with an even-par round three that included five birdies. Ben Ragland had a score of +21 overall across 54 holes. Ragland's best round was a +3 over, 75 in round three.

This was the third straight competition in which the Redhawks finished in the top five as a team. The Redhawks' only better finish this year was their fourth-place finish last time out at the Bandon Dunes Championship. In all, the Redhawks have finished fifth or better in four of eight competitions thus far.

The Redhawks return home to host the annual Seattle U Redhawk Invitational next. That competition will be on March 31 and April 1, played at Chambers Bay in University Place, Washington.
