EUGENE, Ore.Seku Sanders set a new all-time Seattle University 800m outdoor record as the Redhawks put together an impressive Oregon Preview performance. Sanders' showing was one of four new all-time top-ten times: Matthew Fiso, Sean Ellison, and Lilianne Hargreaves all put new times in SU's record book as well.

Sanders broke Alex Franklin's 800m record by over a full second, running a 1:51.20. That broke Franklin's previous record of 1:52.45, set in April of 2024. Ansel Pendley-Griffin is the only other Redhawk to ever break the 1:53.00 mark in the 800m.

Hargreaves also moved up the record books in the 800m. Her time of 2:14.92 moved her from tenth all-time to seventh, passing Rachel Johnson, Sophie Curatilo, and Grace Much.

Fiso and Ellison each put up triple jump performances good enough to move into the record books. Fiso had the third-best triple jump in SU history at 13.78m. That put him just .02m behind JR Zamora for second all-time and .11m behind Nick Redlew for the school record. Ellison had a triple jump of 13.30m, good for eighth all-time and just .07m behind Brock Jahner for seventh.

The Redhawks had eight other times improving upon previous collegiate personal bests. McKenna White (4:38.36), Lance Mason (3:58.75), Aidan Loeffelman (4:10.94), and Diego Razo-Castaneda (4:16.24) all improved upon their previous collegiate bests in the 1500m. White (2:16.32), Annabelle Clapp (2:17.42), Kristina Shkalenkova (2:19.27), and Mila Tsai (2:23.38) all broke their previous collegiate personal bests in the 800m.

The Redhawks have the three-day Mike Fanelli Track Classic up next. That competition, held in San Francisco, will begin April 3.
