SEATTLE - The Seattle University Redhawks will play 54 holes at Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, California next, taking part in the UC San Diego Invitational that begins on March 23. 19 other teams will compete alongside the Redhawks: New Mexico State, Arkansas State, North Dakota State, Sacramento State, UC Irvine, Utah State, George Mason, Gonzaga, UC Riverside, California Baptist, DePaul, Houston Christian, CSUN, Air Force, Lehigh, Bucknell, Praire View A&M, Oklahoma Christian, and host UC San Diego will all be there.

The Redhawks head to San Diego looking to keep their strong streak of play going, having finished fourth out of 16 teams in their last competition, the Bandon Dunes Championship. There, it was Conrad Chisman who led the way, finishing eighth overall. Both Chisman and Walker Lamb shot -1 under, 70 in round two, the third-best scores in round two. Lamb would finish 16th overall, just behind teammate Kevin Li, who finished 13th.

Seattle University enters this week with six different golfers averaging scores under 74, led by Li's average single-round score of 72. Li has shot under par in ten of his 21 rounds so far this year and has not had a round worse than +3 over, 74 in the last two competitions.

Chisman has also had a strong run of play of late. Two of the freshman's last four rounds have been under par. Lamb has had a similar string: over the last two competitions, Lamb has been at or under par four times, shooting worse than +1 over, 72 just once in his last nine rounds.

Seattle U is a regular participant at the UC San Diego Invitational, with this year's trip making it three years in a row. Four current Redhawks took part in the UC San Diego Invitational last year as well: Li, Liam Gill, Will Koch, and Ben Ragland. Both Gill and Ragland also took part in the 2023 edition, where the Redhawks finished second overall, just two strokes behind competition-champion Oklahoma Christian.

The UC San Diego Invitational will be the last road competition for the Redhawks before playing host to the annual Seattle U Redhawk Invitational. That two-day competition will begin March 31 at Chambers Bay in University Place, Washington.
