SEATTLE - Seattle U baseball dropped their Monday match up with Gonzaga, 3-10, at Husky Ballpark. The Redhawks fell behind early and could not rally this time, as the season series with the Bulldogs ends in a tie.
Two of the three Redhawk runs on the day came off solo home runs. Kenny Ishikawa, just as he did in the first meeting between these two teams, sent one over the right field wall in the first at bat for Seattle U. Sam Kane would hit his team-leading 6th of the season in the 6th inning. The other run came off a Tyler Peterson double that scored Josh Cunnigan.
Luke Alwood made his second start of the season and was credited with his first loss. He would go just 1.1 IP and give up six earned on three hits. Blake Smith, Ryan Morrison, Kenny Ishikawa, and Rowan Hayes all saw time on the mound in relief.
The loss snaps the Redhawks season high 5-game winning streak and drops them to 8-12 on the season. They will be back in action this Friday, March 21, when they host Utah Valley for a 3-game conference opening series at Bannerwood.
