SAN DIEGO, CA - Seattle U was walked-off by Utah, 3-4, Saturday afternoon in California. After taking a 2-run lead into the 8th, the Redhawks saw the game slip away as the Utes scored three runs over the final two innings to deny them the victory.

The Redhawk offense was once again powered by the smash brothers of Sam Kane and Kenny Ishikawa, who both hit homeruns for the second straight game. Kane's, a solo shot in the 1st, made it three straight games with a homerun for the sophomore. Ishikawa's was a 2-run blast in the 3rd that also plated Reese Harmon. They would be the only runs on the day for SU.

Rafael Espinoza had a gem of a start on the hill, going 6.2 IP while giving up just one run on four hits. It was the longest start of any Redhawk to start the 2025 season.

Ishikawa (0-2) was credited with the loss after coming on in relief during the 8th from left field, giving up one earned on three hits. Brady Liddle also made his second appearance of the season and gave up two earned.

Seattle U now drops to 0-6 on the season and will conclude their participation in the Tony Gwynn Legacy when they face Long Beach State tomorrow. First pitch between the Redhawks and Dirtbags is scheduled for 12:00pm PT.
