SEATTLE - The track and field season starts this week for the Seattle University Redhawks. Alex Jensen, Azalea Groleau, and Lilianne Hargreaves will all take part in the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, hosted by Boston University.

Jensen will be competing in the 800m and mile while Groleau and Hargreaves will each be competing in the 3000m. The Redhawks' day will begin with Jensen's mile race, which will begin at roughly 8:15 am PT. The 800m will be at about 9:15 am PT, while the 3000m will start at about 11:45 am PT.

This will be the first meet of the track and field season after the cross country season wrapped up in November. Groleau and Hargreaves each earned All-WAC honors during the cross country season, with Groleau also setting a new all-time Redhawk record in the 6k with a 20:28.48 and putting up the highest finish at NCAA Regionals in Redhawk history.

Last season, Groleau and Hargreaves were a part of the WAC Indoor champion distance relay team for Seattle University. Jensen was also a part of an impressive distance relay team on the men's side, finishing fourth at the WAC Indoor Championships. Groleau also earned All-WAC honors in the 3000m at that event last season. In the outdoor season, both Groleau and Hargreaves earned All-WAC honors, in the 1500m.
