SEATTLE –  Back in action following a week-long break for finals, Seattle University men's basketball put on an offensive clinic Saturday night in the Redhawk Center, running away with a 111-44 win over visiting Pacific University (Ore.).

The point total marked the highest scoring output for a Redhawk squad since scoring 115 versus Pacific on Nov. 12, 2019. Meanwhile, the 67-point margin of victory surpassed the previous modern DI record of 62 points set on Dec. 17, 2015 in a 98-36 win over Northwest Indian College.

Ten total Redhawks scored, including seven in double figures as Seattle U shot a blistering 61% from the field, including 17-of-31 (55%) from three.

DaSean Stevens had 20 points, including six triples, while Brayden Maldonado hit five from deep and finished with 19 points. Maleek Arington had 15 points and six assists and Paris Dawson added 12 points. In his first start, Houran Dan put up 11 points with six boards. Will Heimbrodt added 11 points and John Christofilis rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10.

Seattle U scored the first 13 points of the night, including a trio of threes from Maldonado. Another 13-0 run made it 30-7 midway through the frame and the lead continued to balloon as the Redhawks held the Boxers to just 18% (5-28) shooting in the frame.

The Redhawks (4-6) led 58-20 at the half and later led by as many as 69 late in the second half. Everyone got into the mix late, including freshman Eric Zheng who buried a three from the wing on his lone shot attempt in the final minute of play.

Seattle U heads back out on the road for its second match-up as part of the WAC/CUSA scheduling agreement. The Redhawks will make a first-ever trip to Bowling Green, Ky., to face Western Kentucky on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Tip off is set for 7 p.m. Central Time, 5 p.m. Pacific. The game will air on ESPN+.
