SEATTLE - Freshman Candy Edokpaigbe reached a new career-high 20 points and seven rebounds on Saturday afternoon against Weber State, but the feat could not push Seattle U women's basketball into the win column as the Redhawks fell 72-64 at the Redhawk Center.

Three Redhawks scored in double-digits, including Edokpaigbe. Edokpaigbe shot 7-of-12 from the floor to match a career high seven field goals, while hitting a new career high six free throws. Of her new career best seven rebounds, six of them were offensive boards, which leads all Redhawks on the season. She also picked up two steals, maintaining her now ten game streak of one or more steals.

Graduate Christeina Bryan recorded 15 points, picking up five rebounds and a new career high five steals. She shot 5-of-6 from the floor, while tying a career best five made free throws. Redshirt sophomore Olivia Moore posted 10 points and three assists, hitting 50 percent from three.

Freshman Sydnie Rodriguez and graduate Taisiya Kozlova combined for 13 rebounds, as Rodriguez grabbed a new career best six rebounds. The Idaho native added six points, while going a perfect 2-for-2 from the charity stripe.

The Redhawks combined for 19 made free throws on the day, a season high for the team. They picked up a combined 14 steals to Weber State's seven, scoring 19 points off of Weber State turnovers. Seattle U also found success in the paint, scoring 32 points to the Wildcats' 22.

Through the opening twenty minutes, neither team could pull away from one another. The Redhawks led by as many as five with under two to play in the first half, but back-to-back makes from three pushed the Wildcats up 33-32 at the half.

A triple from Moore tied it up in the second half 35-35 before the Wildcats found a rhythm. They led by as many as seven with under three minutes left in the third quarter. The Redhawks turned the tide with a 12-3 run to close out the third quarter, retaking the lead 53-51 off a pair of free throws from Moore.

A slow start in the final ten minutes put the Redhawks in a nine point deficit. With four minutes remaining, Seattle U made one final push but the game of keep away went in favor of the Wildcats and the Redhawks fell by eight at home.

Seattle U returns to the Redhawk Center on Monday night as they host Kennesaw State for the first time in program history. The Owls and Redhawks square off on December 16 at 6 p.m.
