ARLINGTON, Texas - Senior outside hitter Arianna Bilby was named as part of the All-WAC Second Team as announced by the league this afternoon.
The Preseason All-WAC member ranked in the top-10 in the conference in kills per set all season, finishing seventh overall in the league with 3.05 kills per set, amassing 305 kills. She posted her tenth double-double in digs and kills in the regular season finale against Tarleton State. On the season, she recorded three 20+ kill efforts.
Bilby ranked in the top-five on the team in kills, assists, aces, digs and blocks. Her 305 kills paced the team and she ranked second in aces, tallying 25. Her 234 digs was third best on the team and she was one of two Redhawks to lock up 41.0 blocks.
The outside hitter is the 21st Redhawk to earn a spot on an All-WAC team dating back to the 2012 season. Teammate Elif Teksoy was the most recent to do so preceding Bilby with a spot on the 2023 All-WAC Freshman team. The last Redhawk to make a first or a second team was in the 2018 season with Shae Harris taking a spot on the second team.
Bilby has surpassed 300 kills in back-to-back seasons and ranks fourth all-time in total kills with 891. Her 3.39 kills per set over her career is also fourth all-time. Recording 234 digs this season, Bilby launched into the program's top-10 in career digs. Her 644 digs ranks her eighth all-time. She is also tied sixth all-time in solo career blocks with 22.
With the help of guidance from Bilby, the Redhawks earned a spot in the WAC tournament for the first time in five years and ended their regular season with back-to-back wins. The team travels to Arlington for a first round matchup with No. 2 seed Grand Canyon on Thursday.
