CORVALLIS, Ore. - Kevin Li, Liam Gill, and Ben Ragland each had top-25 finishes for the Seattle University Redhawks at the Oregon State Invitational. In all, the Redhawks finished eighth with a team score of +17 at the three-round tournament.
Gill, competing as an individual, finished eighth, finishing at -1 across 54 holes. Gill shot under par in rounds one and two, with a -1 under, 70 in round one and a -2 under, 69 in round two. The senior has now shot under par four times in nine rounds of golf to start the year.
Li shot under par twice, putting up a -1 under, 70 in round one and a -2 under, 69 in round three. The sophomore finished the competition at +2 across 54 holes to end in 17th. Ragland would finish tied for 22nd in a field of 72 golfers. The junior shot par in rounds one and three, with a +3 over, 74 in round two putting him at +3 for the tournament.
Walker Lamb ended the tournament at +6, highlighted by a even-par round two. Jakob Balkovec, competing as an individual, had an even-par round two and then improved upon that with a -1 under, 70 in round three, his best round of the season thus far. Conrad Chisman also had a round under par, shooting a -1 under, 70 in round three.
The Redhawks are back on the road next, heading to Monterey, California. Seattle University and St. Mary's will be co-hosting the Leadership and Golf Invitational at the Bayonet Golf Club. That three-day tournament will begin on October 21. Seattle University's final tournament of the fall season is after that: the Monterrey Collegiate Classic, which will take place in Monterrey, Mexico on October 25 and 26.
