SEATTLE - Seattle U women's soccer fought to a draw with Utah Valley, 3-3, Saturday afternoon at Championship Field. The game was a back-and-forth affair with five of the matches goals being scored in the first 30 minutes of action.
The seniors stepped up for the Redhawks early on, with Hallie Bergford and Kait Raffensperger scoring the first two goals of the match for the home team. Bergford scored the opener, and her second of the season, just four minutes into the match off of a threaded through ball from Bella Bonnett. Following a equalizer from Utah Valley, Raffensperger would put the Redhawks back in front at the 13' mark.
The only goal of the second half would come from the visitors, as the match ended in a draw.
MATCH TIMELINE
Seattle U will now prepare for the WAC tournament where they will play Utah Tech in the opening round on Sunday, Nov. 3. The tournament, which is hosted by Abilene Christian in Texas this year, will be between Nov. 3 - Nov. 9. The winner between the Redhawks and Trailblazers would move on the face the 2nd seeded Grand Canyon on that following Wednesday.
