Redhawks Get the Win in the Wind

SEATTLE - On a blustery afternoon at Championship Field, Seattle U women's soccer was able to weather the win as they defeated California Baptist, 1-0. Joudryn Curran scored the game-winner in the 19th minute and the defense held the Lancers to just three shots on goal as the Redhawks picked up a key conference win.

SEATTLE - On a blustery afternoon at Championship Field, Seattle U women's soccer was able to weather the win as they defeated California Baptist, 1-0. Joudryn Curran scored the game-winner in the 19th minute and the defense held the Lancers to just three shots on goal as the Redhawks picked up a key conference win. 

For Curran, who used the wind to float a ball over the Lancer keeper, it was her first goal of the 2024 campaign and the sixth of her career. She also has dished out four assists this season, bringing her points total for the year up to six.

The Redhawk defense and back line once again shined on the day, securing the team's fifth shutout of the season. Kassidy Kirgan was called on to make three saves as she continues to climb higher in the program's all-time record book.

The win moves the Redhawks to 9-3-4 on the season and to 4-1-1 in conference play. At the conclusion of the match they sit in third in the WAC standings, with Utah Valley and Grand Canyon being the only team's above them. Those two sides will play on Monday, before the Wolverines come here on Thursday, Oct. 26, for senior day at Championship Field.
