SEATTLE - After three tournaments in the Pacific Northwest, the Seattle University Redhawks head to Monterey, California next. The Redhawks and Saint Mary's College will host the Leadership & Golf Invitational together at Bayonet Golf Club, running October 21-23.
14 teams will be taking part in the Leadership & Golf Invitational. Seattle University and Saint Mary's will play host to LMU, Pacific, San Francisco, Santa Clara, California Baptist, Sacramento State, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, BYU, Nevada, Illinois State, and Sam Houston State.
Seattle University is making its first trip to California this year after two invitationals in Washington and one in Oregon. The Redhawks competed in California six times last year, including at the NCAA Regionals in Rancho Santa Fe.
Last time out, Seattle University's Liam Gill finished eighth overall with a score of -1 across 54 holes. Conrad Chisman and Kevin Li also each have top-15 finishes through three tournaments this year.
Chisman and Li have the best 54-hole scores of the season thus far for the Redhawks. That duo have each recorded 54-hole scores of -7, tied for the fifth-best 54-hole score in Seattle University history.
Four different Redhawks are averaging par or better this season. Li leads the way with an average round score of -1 under, 71. Chisman, Gill, and Ben Ragland are all averaging even-par scores of 72.
The Leadership & Golf Invitational is part of a busy week for the Redhawks. After the three-day tournament, the Redhawks will leave Monterey, California for Monterrey, Mexico, competing in the two-day Monterrey Collegiate Classic on October 25-26. That competition will be the last of the fall season for the Redhawks, who will return to action for the Mesquite Invitational in February.
