SEATTLE - No. 11 Seattle U men's soccer won a hard-fought battle with San Francisco, 3-2, Friday night at Championship Field. After finding themselves down at two different points of the match, the Redhawks scored two unanswered to remain unbeaten on the season.

Two goals were scored in the first 10 minutes of action, with the Dons snagging the opener at the 6' mark. Seattle U quickly responded when Jeremy Opong drew a penalty just a little over a minute later, which Taketo Onodera converted to tie the match.

San Francisco would once again pull ahead, scoring their second of the night in the 19th minute. Once again, the Redhawks answered right back, this time with a Titus Washington goal off a Luke Hammond corner. It was both the second goal and assist of the season for Washington and Hammond respectively.

After heading into the halftime break level, the Redhawks were able to take their first lead of the game in the 57th minute. Yeider Zuluaga set up Lennard Fock, who ripped his second goal of the season into the top right of the net. It would prove to be the game-winner as well, the fourth of Fock's Redhawk career.

Despite going ahead, the win did not come easily on the night for SU, who had to withstand 12 second half shots from the Dons. Charlie Lanphier was called into action on several big saves, tallying seven for the match. Defender Demain Alvarez also made a huge sliding save on what would have been a game-tying goal from San Francisco.

The game was one of physicality as well, with 24 fouls called and nine cards being shown between the two sides. Despite the test, the Redhawks were able to muscle their way to the 2024 home-opening win.
