- The Redhawks and Pilots faced off at the Chiles Center in Portland on Thursday. Portland took the match in straight sets. Arianna Bilby led Seattle U with 14 kills while Merima Smajlovic added 10.
- The Redhawks won their season opener, 3-2, over CSUN to give new Head Coach Dan Behnke his first win at the helm of the program.
- Marley Hardgrave was named to the Roadrunner Classic All-Tournament Team after collecting 13 total blocks over two matches. The junior middle blocker also hit an efficient .320.
- Merima Smajlovic was named to the Idaho State All-Tournament Team. The junior outside hitter averaged 2.92 kills and 3.0 digs per set while also tallying seven aces and five blocks over the three matches.
- The Redhawks averaged 1.77 aces per set over their first five matches.
- Yasemin Elmas leads a trio of Redhawks averaging over 1.00 block per set. The redshirt sophomore has 25 total blocks for 1.14 per set. Hardgrave adds 15 blocks (1.07 per set) and freshman Avery Fearnley adds 10 blocks (1.00 per set).
- The 2024 Redhawk squad features nine returning players and seven new faces.
ABOUT THE SERIES VS PORTLAND
- This marks the 10th all-time meeting between Seattle U and Portland. The Pilots lead the series, 6-3.
- The teams last met just two days ago in Portland with the Pilots earning a 3-0 victory.
- Seattle U's three wins include back-to-back in 2015 and 2016, both matches in Seattle.
- The Redhawks and Pilots will become conference foes beginning in the fall of 2025 as Seattle U joins the West Coast Conference.

- Marley Hardgrave ranks tied for 6th in solo blocks: 27
BILBY NAMES PRESEASON ALL-WAC
Senior outside hitter Arianna Bilby was named to the nine-member Preseason All-Western Athletic Conference Volleyball Team as voted on by the league's nine head coaches. An Arlington, Wash., native, Bilby is entering her senior season with the Redhawks. She is coming off of a standout junior season where she finished second in the WAC and 32nd in the nation in attacks per set (11.01) and third in the WAC in kills per set (3.56). She led the Redhawks in points and kills while recording 11 double-doubles and earning a trio of All-Tournament Team selections.

The Redhawks head to the Bay Area in California to take part in the USF Challenge on Sept. 20-21. They will face two future WCC rivals in Saint Mary's and San Francisco, while also facing Air Force on a neutral court.
