TAMPA, FL - No. 23 Seattle U men's soccer picked up a dominate win in their 2024 season opener, defeating South Florida, 4-1, Thursday night in Tampa. Behind huge performances from Jeremy Opong and Titus Washington, the Redhawks jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as they wrangled the Bulls to start the year.

After having a few solid looks in the first 10 minutes of the match, Seattle U was finally able to snag the opener in the 14' off the foot of Washington. A grad transfer out of Carlsbad, Calif., Washington was able to do a spin and fire after receiving a cross from Yeider Zuluaga that put the Redhawks out in front.

Washington's big debut in the red & white continued just under 10 minutes later when he assisted the second of Opong's two goals on the night. Jeremy's first came in the 19' when he headed home a cross from Luke Hammond. The combination of the two forwards gave the Redhawks the 3-0 lead after one half of play.

The Bulls would deny the Redhawks a shutout on the night, scoring their one and only goal of the match in the 62'. The 3-1 scoreline would hold until the final seconds of the game, when a top play worthy goal from Lennard Fock sealed the victory and moved the team to 1-0.
