ARLINGTON, Texas – Seattle University senior outside hitter Arianna Bilby was named to the nine-member Preseason All-Western Athletic Conference Volleyball Team, the league office announced Friday. The Preseason All-WAC team is voted on by the league's nine head coaches.
An Arlington, Wash., native, Bilby is entering her senior season with the Redhawks. She is coming off of a standout junior season where she finished second in the WAC and 32nd in the nation in attacks per set (11.01) and third in the WAC in kills per set (3.56). SHe led the Redhawks in points and kills while recording 11 double-doubles and earning a trio of All-Tournament Team selections.
Bilby and Seattle U host a pair of tune-ups this week, beginning Friday night with a Red & White scrimmage that is open to the public free of charge. First serve is set for 6 p.m. in the Redhawk Center. Seattle U will cap the weekend with an exhibition match against Seattle Pacific on Saturday at 3 p.m. That contest is also free of charge. Under the direction of first-year Head Coach Dan Behnke, the regular season will officially get underway on Aug. 30 and Sept. 1 as the Redhawks head to Pocatello, Idaho, to take part in the Idaho State Tournament.
