Kukula, Ragland Named Cobalt Golf All-American Scholars

NORMAN, Okla. - Seattle U men's golfers Blake Kukula and Ben Ragland have been named 2023-24 Cobalt Golf All-American Scholars for NCAA Division I. This is the third straight season that Kukula has been named an All-American Scholar while it is the first selection for Ragland.

NORMAN, Okla. - Seattle U men's golfers Blake Kukula and Ben Ragland have been named 2023-24 Cobalt Golf All-American Scholars for NCAA Division I. This is the third straight season that Kukula has been named an All-American Scholar while it is the first selection for Ragland. 

Kukula, a senior out of Ocean Park, Wash., competed in seven tournaments during the 2023-24 season and finished with a stroke average of 73.68. He set a new career-low round of six-under 65 at the Nick Watney Invitational (Sept. 25-26) in route to a tie for 28th place finish at two-under 211 (75-71-65). Kukula was also named to his fourth straight academic All-WAC team this season. 

A sophomore from San Ramon, Calif., Ragland competed in all nine tournaments in the 2023-24 season and had a stroke average of 74.52. He set a new career-low round of three-under 68 at the Redhawk Invitational (Apr. 1-2) in route to a career-best seventh overall finish at three-under 210 (72-68-70). He joined Kukula as an Academic All-WAC selection this season as well. 

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, under 78.0 in NAIA, and under 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
