STEPHENVILLE, TX - Seattle U baseball dropped their series opener with Tarleton State, 3-9, Friday night in Texas. The Redhawks took an early lead with a 3-run 3rd, but the Texans scored the final nine runs of the game to take the first of a 3-game conference series.
It was back-to-back home runs in the 3rd inning that gave the Redhawks the lead, coming off the bats of Sam Kane and Mateo Zeppieri. Kane's was a 2-run shot, his team-leading sixth of the season. It also moved him into sole possession of 6th in single-season home runs in program history.
The Texans would slow the Redhawk offense after their outburst in the 3rd, keeping them off the board in the final six innings. They paired that with 9-unanswered runs of their own as they took the series opener.
