ARLINGTON, Tex. - Seattle U women's golf junior Rivekka Jumagulova has been named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women's Golfer of the Week, for the tournament week ending on Wednesday, April 10, the WAC announced on Thursday.

"Rivekka's found a wonderful balance between school, life and golf that we've been able to see lately," said Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. "She's been bought in, committed to learning and applying the principles we speak about out on the course. I love how intelligently she has been playing the game as of late, playing at her own pace and not rushing things. Rivekka is confident, committed and most importantly, present."

Jumagulova captured her second career individual title yesterday, setting a new program record for lowest 54 hole total with a three-round score of 12-under (66-67-71) 204 to help the Redhawks finish second out of 17 teams. The junior came out of the gates strong in the opening round, tying for the second lowest round in program history at six-under 66. The Almaty, Kazakhstan, native continued that great play on the second day, shooting a five-under 67 to post the program's new record through 36 holes at 11-under 133.

She becomes the second Redhawk in the modern era to claim multiple medalist honors in her SU career, joining Caitlin McCleary who took home four titles in her four years. This marks the junior's fifth career WAC weekly honor and second in as many tournament weeks this season.

The Redhawks will begin postseason play next, traveling to Payson, Arizona, for the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championships from April 19-21.
