Redhawks Take Third in a Row with Win Over Wildcats

SEATTLE - Seattle U women's basketball (6-22, 6-13 WAC) sealed its third straight win on Thursday evening, taking down Abilene Christian, 59-54. Mya Moore posted a strong overall performance, setting a new career-high in block shots (five) to go along with nine rebounds, eight points, three assists and two steals. The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) matchup took place at the Redhawk Center on the campus of Seattle U in Seattle.

SEATTLE - Seattle U women's basketball (6-22, 6-13 WAC) sealed its third straight win on Thursday evening, taking down Abilene Christian, 59-54. Mya Moore posted a strong overall performance, setting a new career-high in block shots (five) to go along with nine rebounds, eight points, three assists and two steals. The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) matchup took place at the Redhawk Center on the campus of Seattle U in Seattle. 

Irena Korolenko led the Redhawks in scoring, logging 14 points to go along with four rebounds, three steals and three assists.

Peyton Howard chipped in 12 points as well as recording four steals, four rebounds and three assists.

Asta Blauenfeldt finished one point shy of double figures, while Makayla Moore added in eight points of her own. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a back-and-forth contest throughout, the Redhawks used a 10-3 run open the fourth quarter, grabbing an eight point lead with 2:29 remaining.

The Wildcats brought the score to as close as three points with a minute remaining before Makayla Moore converted on a fast break layup to mark the final score.

Seattle U forced four missed shots in the final minute to seal the victory.

The Redhawks conclude the WAC regular season on Saturday, facing off with Tarleton at 1 p.m. in the Redhawk Center in a winner take all contest for a trip to the WAC Tournament in Las Vegas next week.
