EUGENE, OR - Seattle U baseball dropped their series finale with Oregon, 7-14, Saturday afternoon at PK Park. Despite the Redhawks striking first and rallying late, they still dropped the game to the Ducks and were swept in the series.

"We definitely were better offensively today, but still left runs out there on the bases," said head coach Donny Harrel. "We have to stop teams from scoring after we do and our bullpen allowed a good game to go bad. Disappointing weekend for sure."

Home runs were the name of the game in the 2nd inning for the Redhawks. Mateo Zeppieri hit his first, a solo shot, in a Seattle U uniform before a 2-run blast from Trevor Antonson gave the Redhawks the 3-run lead. After Oregon added two in their half of the 2nd, Sam Kane would extend the SU lead with an RBI double that plated Grant Heiser in the 5th.

The Ducks would put up 6-straight runs to take a lead heading into the 8th. Seattle U would put together a rally in the top of the inning, with Kane picking up another RBI alongside Jackson Lind and Derek Gellos also bringing home runs, the Redhawks would trim the deficit to just 1-run.

Once again, the Ducks would respond in their half of the frame, putting up six on their way to the series sweep.

Luke Alwood made his seventh start of the season on the mound, going 4 2/3 IP while giving up four earned runs on six hits. Cameron Dayton (1-2) was credited with his second loss of the season after giving up three earned.

With the loss, the Redhawks drop to 7-20 on the season. They will be back in action on Wednesday, April 3, when they face crosstown rivals Washington on Montlake.
