PULLMAN, WA - Seattle U baseball dropped game one of their 2-game series with Washington State, 5-12, Tuesday afternoon. After falling behind by seven, the Redhawks put together a rally in the 7th but it wasn't enough as they fell to the Cougars.

"We missed some big plays on defense that we did not make and could not keep them off the barrel enough to stay in the ballgame," said head coach Donny Harrel. "Need to pitch and defend it much better tomorrow to give us an opportunity for more success."

The Cougars jumped out to an early lead, scoring three in the 1st and added four more in the 6th.

Trevor Antonson would kick off a big 7th inning for the Redhawks by hitting a solo home run, his first of the season, to put the first SU run on the board. That was followed by a 2-run RBI double from Sam Kane and an RBI single by Jackson Reed to bring the inning total to four. Reed would help bring in another run in the 8th on a bases loaded walk, but it proved to not be enough as the Cougars scored five runs in their final two frames to take the win.
