Swim Wraps Up Strong NIC Performance

OCALA, FL - Seattle U men's and women's swimming concluded their 2023-24 season with a strong performance at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships in Florida. Seven Redhawks represented Seattle U at the 3-day event, with multiple new top-10 times set.

OCALA, FL - Seattle U men's and women's swimming concluded their 2023-24 season with a strong performance at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships in Florida. Seven Redhawks represented Seattle U at the 3-day event, with multiple new top-10 times set. 

THURSDAY:
Results 

The Redhawks got off to a good start in day one of the event, highlighted by Danielis Kvederis scoring in the 50 back with a time of 22.35 (8 points). Two men's relay teams finished with points as well on the day. The relay team of Kvederis, Jaxon Gonzales, Cole Lanting, and Nicholas Imig finished with a time of 3:17.80 (21 points) in the 400 Medley. While Imig, Lanting, Gonzales, and Theodore Johansen finished at 1:23.10 (21 points) in the 200 Free. 

The 400 medley relay time was good enough for 3rd all-time in program history. 

The men finished in 19th after the first day.

FRIDAY: 
Results

Kvederis carried the momentum from day one into Friday, finishing 6th in the 100 Back (47.93, 15 points). The men's 800 relay of Kvederis, Johansen, Gonzales, and Brendan Ryan finished in 15th with a time of 6:45.98 (26 points).

The 200 medley relay team of Kvederis, Ryan, Lanting, and Imig just missed points with their finish of 1:29.95, but their time was the 5th fastest in school history. 

The men finished in 17th after day two.

SATURDAY:
Results

Kvederis capped off his stellar 3-day performance by setting the school record in the 200 Freestyle, finishing with a time of 1:38.61 in the time trials. Sarah Cook would score in the 100 IM and Gonzales would also score in the 200 Breast. 

The men's 400 Free relay team of Lanting, Kvederis, Johansen, and Imig finished with the 2nd fastest time in school history with a time of 3:00.18. 

The women finished on the board (1) and the men placed 19th (145) at the conclusion of the event, after neither team scored last year.
