Women's Basketball Season Ends on Senior Day

SEATTLE - Seattle U women's basketball's (6-23, 6-14 WAC) regular season came to a close on Saturday afternoon, falling to Tarleton, 57-62, in a contest where the winner advanced to the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Tournament. Mya Moore continued her strong play in the paint, marking her sixth career double-double with a game-high 22 points and 13 rebounds. The final WAC regular season contest took place at the Redhawk Center on the campus of Seattle U in Seattle.

The final WAC regular season contest took place at the Redhawk Center on the campus of Seattle U in Seattle. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
After both teams went back-and-forth for the first five minutes and change, Seattle U went on a 10-0 run to conclude the forth quarter. Ramona Jagger capped off a stellar first period for SU with this buzzer beating layup to make it a 20-12 score after one.

Tarleton fought back in the second quarter to tie the ball game at 31 all going into the second half. The Redhawks came out of the halftime break strong, outscoring the Texans, 12-7, in that third quarter. Seattle U went on a 12-2 run to begin the third quarter, capped off by this Peyton Howard three pointer midway through the quarter.

After Tarleton took the lead a early into the fourth, Seattle U never gave up, bringing the score to as close as three points after Mya Moore converted on a jumper with just four seconds left. 

The Redhawks look to next year as they graduate five seniors in Aannah Interrante, Erin Tarasow, Ramona Jagger, Irena Korolenko and Peyton Howard.
