ARLINGTON, Tex. - Seattle U women's golf sophomore Aaryanna Morris has been named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Co-Golfer of the Week, for the tournament week ending on Wednesday, Feb. 28., the WAC announced on Thursday.

"What a fantastic honor for Aaryanna," said Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. "She is such an incredibly talented and fun person to be around, who has really been open to learning. She possesses an incredible support system and was raised with an intelligent understanding of the game and how to be gritty. It is so great to see her start to have these experiences and understand just how good she can be. Aaryanna understands that there is still work to be done and we will stay focused on the present.

Morris set a new program record at the Grand Canyon Invitational in Phoenix, posting the lowest 54 hole total by one golfer (207) when she tied for third place at nine-under. Morris was phenomenal in the second round on Monday afternoon, finishing with a single round total of seven-under 65 which ranks second all-time in lowest single round score and round score versus par. Morris also led the field in made birdies (17).

This marks the sophomore's first career WAC weekly award.

Seattle U continues the spring season next week, heading to the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, from March 5-7.
