NACOGDOCHES, Tex. - Seattle U women's basketball (3-22, 3-13 WAC) opened its first of three contests in Texas to conclude February on Thursday evening, falling to Stephen F. Austin, 62-87. The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) matchup took place at the William R. Johnson Coliseum on the campus of SFA in Nacogdoches, Texas.

NACOGDOCHES, Tex. - Seattle U women's basketball (3-22, 3-13 WAC) opened its first of three contests in Texas to conclude February on Thursday evening, falling to Stephen F. Austin, 62-87. The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) matchup took place at the William R. Johnson Coliseum on the campus of SFA in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Makayla Moore led the Redhawks in scoring on the night, posting 16 points and finishing two rebounds shy of a double-double.

Peyton Howard chipped in 12 points on 5-for-10 from the field, while Mya Moore added 10 points and the pairing combined for five total steals. 

Asta Blauenfeldt posted her best assist performance of her career, finishing with six. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Redhawks started off slowly in this one, falling behind by 13 points after one quarter. SU did its best to push back in the second quarter, pulling the score to as close as three on this Aannah Interante triple with 4:35 remaining before the half.

Seattle U continued to fight to stay in the contest during the third quarter, opening with this Makayla Moore and one just 10 seconds in.

However, the Ladyjacks caught fire in the final period, scoring 29 total points to put the game away.
